People are always asking me why they should get solar. I usually answer with an unhelpful …why not? Of course, my full-time career is in solar and I know much about it. I sometimes forget that the average person just does not know what I know and what I have seen.
What I can tell you is that there is a general misconception that solar is a major expense. This is simply not true. In fact, most homeowners are already paying money to the utility company for electricity they use. Yes, that is correct, solar is not a new expense or cost. You are already spending the money. Solar provides you a choice as to where you get your electricity from.
A homeowner can continue to pay the utility company for their electrical use OR they can take that money and use it to purchase their own solar system on their own home. Not only are they freeing themselves from ever increasing rate hikes, they are now building equity in their own home.
Another great reason for installing a solar system is the tax benefits. Not only is there a 30% federal tax credit, Solar is tax exempt in the state of Florida. This means no sales tax and no property tax on the increased value of adding a solar system to your home.
Depending on the size of the system, Return on investments will run between 6 and 10 years. I challenged you to find a better investment with no risk!
So, why would you not get solar?
